Chop the onions. Garlic, halved lengthwise and cut into thin slices. Chop the dates. The Kassel Erlach into thin slices.
Kassel Erlach in the olive oil sear on both sides. Remove from pan and keep warm.
In the same pan without cleaning them, first sauté the onions, garlic and give dates. Fry everything together for about 2 minutes reduce the heat level.
Mix broth, season. Only then add the water. Everything simmer until the liquid has reduced somewhat and is more viscous.
Season with paprika and pepper. Add salt if needed.
The sweet onion sauce to savory smoked-date and serve. Serve with a freshly baked baguette, jegiche type fits in potatoes (baked potatoes, boiled potatoes, puree ...) or dumplings. Bon appetit!
